Ah!, sports, the source of our original inspiration. We love sports! They
capture so much of everything. Sports are entertainment, they're art,
they're political, they're business (like really grande business). Sports
can simply be recreation or an occupation. And sometimes, like in the case
of professional baseball, it can be recreation pretending to be an
occupation. Do you like baseball? Here's a riddle Q: What really gets a baseball player
sweating during a game? A: A sunny day, around 90 degrees with 50% relative
humidity just about does it (sorry Sammy).
Oh!, come on now, we're just having fun. Sports are also supposed to be
fun, right? We're not picking on baseball, it's not like we did something
mean like comparing it to golf or anything boring like that. Wait a minute.
Is golf a sport?
But enough of that. Kohones is about finding and expressing the passion,
or as we say, the passion in the extreme that's everywhere (and one
day a molecular physicist will help us find it in baseball).
So, what's your passion? Extreme? Mainstreme? Daydreme?

Extreme
sports have no beginning and no end.
It is an evolution of what has existed in some form or another and what is
yet to exist. This being the case, there must be as many boundaries to be
created as now exist to be broken. Heavy man, but if contemplation is not
your thing you should fret not. No need to seek out the Dalai Lama or
subscribe to New Age weekly.
Very simply, extreme is for the adventurer and
the rebel (those with kohoneez, dude!). There is no pro or amateur, only the evolving and the exulted.
Little, if any, team effort is required. Air, water, wind and gravity are
your true challengers. Nature is your amigo and adversary- - she is your
ultimate teacher and torturer.
 Mainstreme
is about the traditional
sports. Football is cool, we get a kick out of soccer, hockey is hellish
and baseball is America's great pastime. With established rules and
limits, many times the greatest focus in these sports is centered on this
or that "bad boy" rather than the sport itself. Ironic, since these are
supposed to be about the team. But that's because whether just with
friends, on the school team, or as a professional, the individual need to
"breakout" overtakes that we or team thing. You may "win" as a team, but
only an individual breaks the boundaries.
 Daydreme
is the sport
of professional spectators.
Keep dreaming.
